Don't you love the modern times in which
we live? So many conveniences - frozen dinners, fast transportation, even
mail that is delivered immediately. Well, now you can have your very own rave
in the privacy of your very own living room. "Real" is just that. It is a
prepackaged rave. By now, I assume that you have guessed that this CD is a
collection of electronica. And I know that some people look down on this genre
as not really being "music" because there is no true "band" that gets together
and creates the sounds. It is more a collage of synthesizers, and samples
of noise, voices, and assorted sound effects all put to the beat of a drum
machine. However, this music also incorporates real guitars and keyboards
and does indeed take al lot of imagination and creativity as well as technical
genius. I will also admit right off the bat, that I don't know ambient trip-hop
from deep house or whatever all the other sub-genres are of electronica. That
said, I do know that this CD contains all the elements found in electronica
and they are put together in a fashion that is truly electrifying. But getting
back to my premise that this is a rave in a jewel box, this is what you have
to do: get dressed appropriately, expand your mind with whichever method you
prefer, and then put "Real" on the CD player. This CD takes you on a bell
curve trip. First there are a couple of mood setting pieces, the title piece
"fleshpulseflesh" and "no sanctuary". These are just sort of demonic spoken
collages of noise and chanting with no drums. We are beginning to feel the
effects and we are anticipating the rush. Then, as we are starting to "get
off", the real trip begins - "hey", "free electron", and on through "dark
birdy" put us in our electronica groove. These are wild pulsations that make
you want to move your body. I especially enjoyed "eNTERDRONe" and "bit d'ol'
in out". Finally, we are slowly let down with "wistful organum". Our psychedelic
journey is over and we are back all in the same day. We have gone to the peak
and come back with a little sex in the middle. Phew!! So go get "Real" and
dance till you trance!

Music that fluid enough to cross the
boundries between the electronic and the physical ... similar to trance, but
more intriguing ... tinged with an Eastern influence, the overall effect is
almost subliminal ... creates using a wide range of emotion ... the mood varies
from lulling contentment and giddy intoxication to unsettling minimalism ..
something that can be many things to many people ...

Mmmm, I used to listen to secret
agent and groove salad in my mid teens. I never knew they had a downtempo/chill
or an industrial/noise station. I hop the industrial and get Fleshpulseflesh
- No Sanctuary and it's an noisey ear fucking. Good find man.

Was gibt es noch auf "Real" außer den drei
auch auf "Ionospheric Intercourse" vertretenen Stücken? Wer 4-to-the-floor-Anleihen
braucht, wird auf 'Anarchy Danse' gut bedient. In 'Bit d' ol' in out' hören
8 Punkte
