RUMPUS IN THE HOUSE

ABOUT
RUMPUS!

Rumpus! started as the largely electronic visual side of The Epiphany Project, a multisensory multidisciplinary performance art show that debuted in 1993. In this capacity, Rumpus! specialized in experimental film, video, lighting and ephimeral constructions designed to complement the live dance and other artistic performances.
By 1995, as a formal project in its own right, Rumpus! was produced through Citadel Sound Studios and Arlington Community Television, and was presented through the international community access television network. During this time period, Rumpus! was being provided to over 150 million homes worldwide and received widespread positive reviews and commentary, garnering several awards, including from the Washington DC Psychotronic Film Society and the Hometown Video Festival.
By the late 1990s, this success and exposure led Rumpus! to become primarily a live video show accompaniment to various musical acts. Partnering with Warp Sights & Sounds in the early 2000s, Rumpus! was presented with acts including Felix Da Housecat, Armand Van Buren, Dieselboy and Feelgood, among many others.
Working independently since 2008, Rumpus! has presented at many venues and events including Starscape, Playa Del Fuego, Naughty Snowball, Wickerman Arts Festival, Art All Night, Alexandria Lit! Festival, Constellation Burn, PEX SummerFest, PEX Heartburn, and Light City Baltimore, among many other events and happenings.
